Oral history interview of Frank Duncan. Frank M. Duncan enlisted in WWII (1942-1952,), in the Navy aboard the USS Pennsylvania (BB 38) (a sister ship to the USS Arizona, built with the same blueprints) as a Firecontrolman Second (2nd) Class at Pearl Harbor, HI (Hawaii) and then in the Pacific Theater, including Okinawa and the Aleutian Islands, taking part in 13 invasions. (A fire controlman was part of the crew that shot the guns.) During the Korean War he was aboard the USS Achernar (AKA 53), an attack cargo ship. He was awarded 8 bronze battle stars, a silver star, and a presidential unit (?)
