Oral history interview of Ronald Barton. Ronald Edward Barton enlisted in the Navy in WWII (1943-1946), serving aboard the USS LST-57 (Landing Ship Tank), USS YMS-79, and USS George K. MacKenzie (DD 836). He was an Electrician's Mate Second (2nd) Class and served in the European Theater in England, Ireland, and Russia. His was a military family, with his father serving in WWI, a deceased son who was a Navy SEAL, and another son who served in Afghanistan.
