Oral history interview of Allen Sanderson. Allen G. Sanderson enlisted in the Army Air Forces/Corps (1942-1947), reaching the rank of major. He was with 64th Fighter Squadron, 57th Fighter Group, 12th Air Force and served in the European Theater, including Italy and Oran. As a pilot, he flew 119 missions in various planes, including the PT13, BT-6, AT-6, P-40, P-47, P-39, and P-63. He received an Air Medal and and DFC.
