The Division Street Project involved the acquisition of land along Division St./Pennsylvania St. in preparation for the eventual building of the Lloyd Expressway, which spans the city east and west. In 2021, there are still some stretches of Division St. that still exist, but most traffic flows along the expressway. This photograph looks west on Division St. from Bennighof Ave. Mini Like New Shop (consignments) at 1431 Division St., Electro Hygiene Sales Corp. at 1423 Division St., Kares Contracting Paint Store at 1421 Division St. , and Golden Cream Donuts at 1419 Division St. This area was called Rosedale (see http://historicevansville.com/neighborhoods.php#Rosedale for definition).
