Posey County Courthouse at 300 Main St., built 1874-1876. Located at 300 Main St. but encompassing the block of Main/Walnut/3rd/4th Sts. The building seen on the right is the Posey County Memorial Coliseum at 126 E. 3rd St., on the corner with Walnut St. This building, constructed for $2000,000, was dedicated on Armistice Day 1926. Posey County veterans of WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam are honored on plaques in the interior. The original building had an auditorium, gym, pool, etc. After the 1937 flood, this building was used as a hospital and dormitory. Today the structure is primarily used as government offices and as a meeting place.
