St. Matthew's Catholic Grade School today stands at 401 Mulberry St. That building, which is not the one shown here, dates to 1961. The school's website says that it has been in Mt. Vernon since 1867. Presumably what is seen here was demolished to build the contemporary school structure. One source says this was abandoned in 1958.
