Description

""The Rockport Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum is a historic memorial to Lincoln that visualizes the Spencer County environment in which Lincoln lived during the 14 formative years of his life, from 1816 to 1830."" (https://lincolnpioneervillage.com/about/) These are replica buildings. This is the Barter House, Replica House and Village Repair Shop. ""According to the National Register of Historic Places Continuation Sheet, this building was demolished a few years ago. Pioneers brought furs, farm produce, and homemade goods to such a place to barter for things they needed. A display of wooden shoes and the tools used to make them brought to mind the German settlers of pioneer Spencer County, many of whom wore wooden shoes.""
