Description
H. Fendrich Cigar Factory Evansville, Ind., established 1850. It was the largest cigar factory in the world. The company began business at 105 Main St., until that was destroyed by fire in 1910. It then moved to the location shown here, at 101 Oakley St. The cigar factory closed in 1969, and Imperial Plastics took over. In 1983 it was renamed Berry Plastics, a company that with much updating and expansion, still occupies this location.
