Vendome Hotel at 24-30 NW 3rd St., formerly 201-215 Upper 3rd St. The hotel was built in 1890; in 1906 it was purchased by Frederick J. Scholz and enlarged, and began to be referred to as the Vendome Hotel. The building ws razed in 1972, and Fifth Third Center now occupies this space. The president was Charles J. Scholz.
