Description

The bulk of boat traffic along the Ohio River would soon give way to the railroad. The Mead Johnson River-Rail-Truck Terminal (now the Port of Evansville) was built around 1930, and the continuous flow of barge traffic still emphasizes the importance of the city's riverfront.
