Grace Presbyterian Church at 601 SE 2nd St., formerly 901-5 Upper 2nd St. The church building was formally dedicated September 13, 1874 when Vine St. Presbyterian moved into this space and changed its name. The congregation goes back to the first decades of the 19th century. Chestnut St Church sold its property to the Scottish Rite and merged with Grace Presbyterian in 1909. The church was subsequently renamed Grace Memorial Presbyterian. In 1926, Walnut Street Presbyterian merged with Grace to become First Presbyterian, its current name.
