Colored Orphan Asylum on 1215 N. Barker Ave. Until 1883, orphans of all races lived together in the facility shown in RH 033-082 and 083. When they were segregated, this facility was built, it was also known as the Booker T. Washington Home. In 1952 this house was razed and the Hillcrest Youth Services (current name) facilities were built, with integrated housing once again.
