Crowd for Benjamin Bosse's funeral at Trinity Lutheran Church (on left) at 1012 W. Illinois St., originally 119 E. Illinois St. Bosse was mayor of Evansville 1914-1922 and died in office in April 4, 1922 at the age of 47. This church building dates to 1871, but the congregation began some 30 years earlier, making this the oldest German protestant church in Evansville. There were also services for Bosse held at the Coliseum--SEE MSS 264-2984 and MSS 264-2969 (outside his house).
