Welborn Hospital Annex at 414 E. Sycamore St., originally 420 William St. This building was built as a residence circa 1878 and in 1929 became the Walker Annex, and was renamed Welborn Walker Annex in 1933 and finally, Welborn Annex in 1944 as the name of the main hospital changed. According to the Historic Evansville website, it served African-American patients. It was run by an RN, with doctors from Welborn visiting as needed. Some surgeries were performed here. It closed in 1953, was a hotel in the 1960s, and was razed in 1984.
