Description

Sketch of a woman wearing a tweed dress and jacket, belted at the waist, with a fur collar and matching hat. This is the cut-out of the advertisement, and the copy reads, Abe Schrader does a soft little tweed dress and jacket costume with a sportive touch of raccoon for putting our best foot forward-- (1900-2001) Abe Schrader immigrated to the US from Poland as a young man. He began in the garment business as a contract jobber, and in 1952 he formed the Abe Schrader Corporation. His Seventh Avenue ready-to-wear house made up-scale dresses , coats and suits for women. The company was established as Arkin & Schrader. The name was changed to Abe Schrader, Inc. in September 1953. (https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/schrader-abe/)
