Description
Executive Inn at 600 Walnut St. (large building in center of photograph, with ""E"" sign) A project of local self-made millionaire Bob Green, the Executive Inn was the hot spot in the 1970s, booking lots of conventions and featuring big name entertainment like Fats Domino, Little Richard, Bob Hope, Elvis Presley, Red Skelton, and Barbara Mandrell. After Green's 1991 death, the hotel went through a number of owners, but was eventually razed in 2011 to make way for a new arena. The building to the right of the hotel is its parking garage.
