Description
Correspondence from Hilbert Graman to Ann Ruxer. This is almost surely Hilbert Stephen Hip Graman, 1924-1988.( https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/186373973/hilbert-stephen-graman) He addresses her as Pool Shark, and says he wishes they could have friendly arguments again. He comments on mutual friends, saying he doesn't blame Ralph (possibly the same man as mentioned in MSS 295-01-03-doc-18) for going out with that Lindauer girl, that's she's pretty good company. He teases her about Leo (Leo Volz, another correspondent in this series of letters who she goes on to marry; they were married for 53 years until his death in 2000) and wonders who she's going out now that Leo is in the Army and that her pickings at home, unless she robs the cradle, are small. He asks her not to get mad at his teasing, but that he's feeling mean since he's been on the water so long, and that she will need to excuse his handwriting as he's currently in a small boat with waves going up and down. He asks her something about wanting to stay home, and that he could come home and they'd have a great time, but maybe he shouldn't because he would be AWOL and get in big trouble. He reminds her that he wants a picture, and signs the letter Pop Off.
