Correspondence from Pvt. Leo Volz to Ann Ruxer. He writes this letter on board a train to California, still with no idea of his final destination. He hopes he won't be on a boat. The trip out of MS was delayed, so the soldiers just laid down and slept on the ground. They've traveled through Texas and are into Mexico. They sleep on the train like they would on a ship--two down and one up. He's the one up. He asks that Ann contact Laura (his sister) and have her tell their mother about him. NOTE: these correspondents will marry, and were married 53 years at his death in 2000.
