Description
Correspondence from Dottie Becher to Ann Ruxer. (This is believed to be Dorothy Becher Brosmer.) She liked the photographs, and asks Ann to have another set developed for her. She is typing this letter because she had to type cards for a man in town and wanted to stay in practice. She's just back from the grocery. The senior girls are serving a meal at the upcoming bazaar. Coon (no further information) told her that Eddie (no further identification) was playing at the Knights of Columbus home---that's good to hear, and tell him to keep up the good work. She has heard from Hip (Hilbert Graman) and nearly fainted, and also from his friend who doesn't sound half bad. There's a hot game Friday night--they are playing Washington. The sectional (high school basketball) is soon--why doesn't Ann try to come up for that? She saw Charlie Gulian [sic] (should be Julian) out at the Lake and he was drinking. He asked her to take Ann's ring and give it to her, but she refused because she thought that was his place to do that. She can tell he still likes Ann. If he'd only quit that drinking. She saw Kate, Bernie, Mary Alice, and Charlie (no further identification for any) at the show, and Mary Alice's ring is awfully pretty. Johny [sic] Kunkler was there and wanted her to go to the show with him. She didn't go---should feel guilty, but she just wasn't interested. He's a nice kid and all that. She cannot believed Ann stayed home over the weekend. Nothing much was going on, but they went out to the lake and later to see Sweet Rosie O'Grady , Twentieth Century Fox, with Betty Grable). She knows that Ham (her boyfriend, possibly former) and Eddie (no further identification) made it into the Air Force and wishes them the bests. She's heard that Eddie had a girl out from Huntingburg and wonders if there was anything to it and who she was. The girls might come to Billie's Sunday night if they don't have to work the bazaar. She's heard from Ernie and (Porky (Porky is Lee Louis Becher, no further identification for Ernie), and received a very letter from Hip.
