Correspondence from Pvt. Leo Volz to Ann Ruxer. He thanks her for the picture she sent and says she looks nice in her uniform, but that his uniform is OK for him but that he'd love to give it right back so he could come home to see her. He answers her questions about what he's done with his money, asks her what sort of something she wants him to send, and asks for a larger picture of her. He talks about friends from home, including one guy who he feels has no sense about women. He tells her that he would like to see a white girl again like her. He warns her to be ready when he comes home because he will be hard to hold. NOTE: these correspondents will marry, and were married 53 years at his death in 2000.
