Leo Volz to Ann Ruxer. He has some time off and so is writing to her, but with nothing going on, he has nothing to say. He says she ought to be pleased to stay home, as all the boys in the Army would stay home if they could, and it might be some time before they will be able to do so. He agrees that if he had joined the Army with Leander (twin brother) last winter he still would be in the states. He's just been paid and is going to town on a 3 day pass, and when he gets back he'll let her know how the hula girls were. NOTE: these correspondents will marry, and were married 53 years at his death in 2000. (Factually, Leander was killed in action on February 14, 1945 and was buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery. Leo and Martin survived the war and died in 2000 and 1981, respectively.) 001526036 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001526036 6531_ $$aPersonal Correspondence 001526036 6531_ $$aWorld War II (WWII, WW2, World War 2) 001526036 6531_ $$aMilitary History 001526036 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1901-1950 001526036 6531_ $$aSpecial Collections 001526036 655__ $$aDocument 001526036 691__ $$aHawaii 001526036 7001_ $$aLeo Volz 001526036 8564_ $$944d38cf9-6e35-4c6f-b058-fc5d0d11b2de$$s4375013$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1526036/files/4369.pdf 001526036 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1526036$$pGLOBAL_SET 001526036 914__ $$ap17218coll2 001526036 980__ $$aSpecial & Regional History Collection 001526036 984__ $$aAnn Volz Collection 001526036 985__ $$aText
