Description

Correspondence from Pvt. Leo Volz to Ann Ruxer. He's very happy to be in Hawaii--he's staying in a place that's just like home: 8 guys in 4 rooms with a bathroom, well painted, with an ice box. He says he was in a terrible mood when he first came and cared about nothing. He asks her for a picture and says he hopes she's gotten that job in Evansville that she wanted. He asks about her sister, Jenny, too. He asks if she remembers that last night before he left because he certainly does. He closes by saying he has to clean his gun, and clean it very well or he will get K.P. This letter was S.W.A.K. NOTE: these correspondents will marry, and were married 53 years at his death in 2000.
