Description

Correspondence from Pfc. Urban Graman to Ann Ruxer. This letter is addressed to Chicken, and he tells her he's well and having a hell a good time and hopes she is, too. Maybe she goes over to those U.S.O. dances in Kentucky? He asks if she's picked one out for yourself already and if she has not, then she should while the getting is good; this is what he thinks and what he's doing. He's sending her a picture that is not very good and she ought to throw it away. She's not to show it to anyone and if he finds out she did, he'll come and kick her butt, no kidding. He asks if she's seen Boobs (possible identification: Cyrinus A. Becher, identified from MSS 295-01-08-doc-27) and to ask him to answer his letter. He asks if she had a good time on Easter Sunday--he did; they went to Mexico and got drunk and boy did he feel bad the next morning. He's sworn off drinking until the next time, and that will not be for a long time. FACT: There are other letters in this collection from Hilbert Stephen Hip Graman, 1924-1988, Urban J. Graman's younger brother. Urban (1922-1944) will be killed in the Admiralty Islands March 14, 1944, at the age of 21.
