A veteran's hat collection, most caps commemorating U.S. Navy ships. The others commemorate Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Prisoners of War, Uncle Sam, and the 50th reunion of the class of 1939 from Corrigan High School. The originator of this collection, Lyman M. Matherly, Jr. was a WWII Navy veteran, although according to his obituary, he served aboard the USS Blue Ridge, not one of the ships seen here. He was a member of the VFW, but being born in 1925, could not be a member of the class of 1939.
