Description

Office directory of the Old Courthouse Center. This Vanderburgh County Courthouse at 201 NW 4th St. was completed in 1890. The building still stands, but is now referred to as the old Courthouse, as government offices moved into another building in 1969. The Courthouse spans the block between NW 4th St. and NW 5th St., bounded by Vine St. and Court St. The Courthouse sits on ground that was once the turnaround for the Wabash and Erie Canal. This is the NW 4th St. side, with the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum in the background.
