001528012 520__ $$aPloeger grave marker: Henry Ploeger July 3, 1836 to July 16, 1897 and Elizabeth Ploeger April 10, 1841 (no death date). The linked letters FLT on the top of the stone indicates that Henry was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. According to his newspaper obituary, Henry was one of Evansville's oldest residents--and he died at age 61! He was born in Germany and immigrated to this country at age 17. He served in the Civil War as a member of Company K, 32nd Indiana Infantry. He married Elisabeth Wust in 1860. The Ploegers lived at 108 E. Indiana St. This gravestone is at Oak Hill Cemetery.
