The linked letters FLT on the top of the stone indicates that Henry was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. According to his newspaper obituary, Henry was one of Evansville's oldest residents--and he died at age 61! He was born in Germany and immigrated to this country at age 17. He served in the Civil War as a member of Company K, 32nd Indiana Infantry. He married Elisabeth Wust in 1860. The Ploegers lived at 108 E.
