Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). NOTE: He apparently starts the letter on Wednesday afternoon, but the 18th is a Thursday. He's getting a promotion and will start school at Avon in frequency modulation next Sunday. This will come with a small pay increase, moving him to $1800/year, The bad part is that he will only get to draw this for 8 months at which time he'll go into the Army. This means he will be getting training as a specialist. He's just studied radio as a whole, but now he will go into a specialized field. Frequency modulation is the newest in radio transmission so this may be useful after the war. He's either ""luckier than hell"" or he knows something as they've been pulling quite a few out and putting them in the army. He's planning on coming home March 12 as Paul (no further identification) will be home then and he wants to see him before he gets off. He thinks he himself may go in the following month. His hours will not be so good as he starts school Sunday afternoon at 5:30 and works until 2:00 am.
