Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer) and (Morgan G. Meyer, 1916-2000 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/43119273/morgan-g.-meyer). They are out in the field every day until 6:00 pm, so he has little time for letter-writing. They are preparing for a 2 week firing test and those 105 Howitzers are noisy. At times there are guns behind them shooting over their heads and the shells really whistle as they fly over. Although they aren't big guns, the concussion is terrific, and sitting in a car 100 yards away you can really feel it. All he does is go out and lay down and hope the radio works. There are lots of pine trees and the needles make the softest cushion. He expects to get home after the first of the year; this will be his first Christmas away, but he guesses that he is lucky at that. He comments to Morgan that Dothan, AL has a Masonic chapter although he doesn't know much about it, but he hopes to see it when he gets to town. 001528127 542__ $$fhttp://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-NC/1.0/ 001528127 6531_ $$aPersonal Correspondence 001528127 6531_ $$aRelated Materials -- 1901-1950 001528127 655__ $$aDocument 001528127 691__ $$aAlabama 001528127 7001_ $$aOwen Hamilton 001528127 8564_ $$9a5a3caf7-2b6d-4bb4-9ecd-07fb5c17c199$$s1232794$$uhttps://library.usi.edu/record/1528127/files/26354.pdf 001528127 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:1528127$$pGLOBAL_SET 001528127 914__ $$ap17218coll2 001528127 980__ $$aSpecial & Regional History Collection 001528127 984__ $$aOwen Hamilton Collection 001528127 985__ $$aText
