Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer and brother-in-law Morgan Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer) and (Morgan G. Meyer, 1916-2000 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/43119273/morgan-g.-meyer). He is glad they liked the photographs he sent--he thinks they take better ones there, or maybe they just spend more time to get a good pose. Wait until they see the photo he sent Mother--he had just gotten his hair cut and was strictly combat. When he gets others he will send them some and then they can see what a real combat man shouldn't look like! He's completely done with his amphibious training but would not mind going back there. It's much cleaner in the ocean and once you get your sea legs, it's enjoyable. If it all works out, he's going to spend some time on the island of Hawaii soon. He will get a free ride on a transport plane, and the army makes all his reservations so it's a good deal. Once there he will have been on all the islands but one, but he will fly over the one not visited and so can say he's seen all the Hawaiian islands. He saw the Messiah in Honolulu and while it wasn't that great, it was nice to break up the routine.
