If nothing happens he will get his Master Mason's degree this week. He found out that they'd heard from the Evansville lodge back in January but didn't know how to reach him since his address had not be passed along. He happened to catch them at the local lodge and was told to come Tuesday night. He will wire his family if he gets in OK. He's glad to hear that Bob (no further identification) made it into the flying cadets as this will be much better than the draft; he will be in school for about a year. He says to tell Bob to really bear down and work hard because it will mean far more than being in the ground forces. They have some boys who flunked out of A.S.T.P. and they say they wish they had studied harder because the regular army is hard. They are told the living conditions are good and so they ease up, but after they spend some time living out and stuff, they know what they messed up. If he's really lucky he may get to be a Warrant Officer, but he hates to get his hopes up because it looks like things work against his getting ahead. If he does he will make as much as a 2nd Lt. and live in officers' quarters, which seems like a dream too good to be true.
