Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). NOTE: He apparently starts the letter on Sunday afternoon, but finishes it Monday as the 11th is on Monday. He apologizes for not answering sooner, but his 3:15-12:00 shift makes it hard. He went to a Signal Corps dance last night and is not feeling sharp today. They have these dances about every month and they are very nice. He's moved and is in a really nice place in a good part of town. There are lots of trees and a park behind the house. Room and board costs $35/month, which is better than before, and he thinks he has a good bargain. They started drilling last week and work on close order drills for half hour daily. He likes marching and thinks this will come in handy when on active duty. School is going well--they're studying Army equipment and only have 3 more items to study, although they will spend a lot of time on these. He thinks this will last 7 weeks. It was great being home for Christmas and he appreciates all his gifts. He has to go to write more letters and catch up. Hi to Morgan (her husband) and how's Mac's (no further identification) cold?
