Description
Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). She's told him the baby is due in a few weeks and he says that all will go well because they just won't have it any other way. He hopes for a boy but will not be unhappy with a girl. He's learned the futility of worrying about things over which you have no control. He's heard that Germany is about ready to give up the ship, which is hard to imagine but certainly a long time coming. He hopes the Japanese soon realize that they're beaten--if not, they will soon when more forces come to the Pacific to fight. He went to the beach yesterday with that wave (WAVE?) he told her about. He took lots of pictures that he will share with them. Mary (no further identification) is a swell kid and it really helps his morale to talk to a girl from the states. He has a pass tomorrow and will take her to a show and dinner. If he only had his car there he could really have a time. He tells her that his antenna is anxious to hear about the baby.
