Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). She's told her the mosquitoes are bad, and he sympathized because they're very bad in HI, too. They have everything from fighters to the heavy lumber type. It's so bad he's stopped wearing a repellant, saying that the mosquitoes suck his blood and use the repellent as a chaser. He's heard from his mother that the Leslie's might move, and it would be splendid if they could get hold of that house. He says it looks like the war is going well and will soon be over. The boys in Saipan are having a hard time, but that's the only way to get this over. He's sending her a poem from Esquire magazine about mess kits that fits them to a T. This poem is included in this letter. He looks forward to the time when they can all be together, and says to tell Morgan (her husband) that he got his Masonic membership card.
