Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). This has been the hardest week he's had since coming in the army. In the midst of it all he had to see the psychiatrist about his O.C.S. He doesn't know if they think he's crazy for applying or just want to see how he is after a year on the rock. The red tape is about over so it should not be long before he finds out if he gets to come home. He thinks it's only a slim chance but will continue to hope. He's been waiting to hear about the basketball finals--the state finals are over and he doesn't even know who won the semi-state. (FACT: Bosse High School won for the 2nd year in a row, 46-36. Bosse is a school he mentions frequently in his letters.) Evansville must be having some bad luck with the flood and now this bad storm. He heard something about it on the radio but wasn't really listening until he heard ""Evansville."" He has to go out in the field again next week and wonders when it will ever end.
