Description
Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). He's in a fog as to when he will be home. The 48 pointers have left and he's just marking time. They were told the division will be inactivated February 15, so he wonders if they'll keep him until then. If they don't, he'll be home by the time she gets this letter, although that cannot be depended upon. He will send Mom a cablegram when he leaves. He won't write after he leaves as he imagines it will be hard to do so. He cannot believe he's this close to leaving, after having waited this long. He dreads the long trip home and will be anxious the closer he gets. He made Tech Sergeant on his birthday and now gets $150/month, but hopes he won't draw that more than a few months.
