Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). He begins this letter on Monday evening but apparently finishes it the next day as the 9th is a Tuesday. He's sorry to hear she's been sick in bed and hopes she's feeling better. Emalee (no further identification) came up last Saturday, and they stayed at John and Eleanor's (no further identification) and had a good time. He has about 5 more days of school where he is, but doesn't really know how long he will be there. They called 200 out recently and put them on active duty, with a month off before. If he has to go, this won't be bad. He may be there another 6 weeks but really has no idea. It will be ok either way because he's getting a lot of training. He has several tests this week and is doing a lot of studying. It may have some bearing on how long he remains there but nothing is sure because they are taking some good students into the Army. He says hi to the family and admonishes her to take care of herself.
