It's been cold and snowy there, although the weather is getting better. He passed his test, and has received a $15/month raise and is now on day shift. If nothing happens and he makes the grade, he should be in Lexington for 14 more weeks, which puts him into the Army in late March or early April. This timing is good because it should not be too hot or too cold for basic training. This school is really fine and you have to have a badge to get in, so everyone is wearing badges now. It's a school in field radio, and he will be there for 10 (he guesses) and 4 more in frequency modulation, if you know what that means. He's signed up for Christmas leave and should be home Dec. 24-27. As for a Christmas gift for him, he's thinking that since he's going to be around for awhile, it would be best if they just give him money. That way he can buy a sports jacket, and he'll buy it there as there is more selection available. He thinks he would get a lot more out of pooling his interest and getting something he wants. He'll go shopping and if he finds something he likes, he'll put it on layaway. He's scouting around for a present for home, so if there's something she'd like, just let him know.
