Description

Photos celebrating the win by Nowanative of an unidentified race at Ellis Park at 3300 US Hwy. 41 South. This racetrack began in 1922 as Dade Park but was renamed Ellis in 1954. An interesting anomaly about the park is its location. Due to changes in the course of the Ohio River over time, it is physically north of the river yet still located in Kentucky, not Indiana. Sam Vine came in second and Susan Satan third. Owner of the winner was John McGarrah. The winning trainer was James McGarrah and winning jockey Jose O. Garcia. One of the photographs shows a group of people holding a banner for the Princeton, Indiana American Legion.
