Description

The front gate, looking up to the U.S. Naval & Marine Corps Reserve Training Center at 2700 W. Illinois St. This building is one of buildings at the Marine Hospital, built in 1888 to take care of servicemen. The hospital closed in 1947 and it reopened as this training center in 1949. The training center moved out in 1975 and the hospital was razed in the middle 1980s.
