Description

In this aerial view, the ornate Romanesque building is at 200 NW 2nd St., now called the old post office. It was built 1873-1879. Abandoned by the federal government in 1969, it was acquired by the city in 1977 and currently holds a catering/event venue. Beyond this, at 118 Vine St., is the YWCA, built in 1924. It still stands today and is still a YWCA. Across 2nd St. is Kenny Kent Chevrolet Co. Inc. at 109 NW 2nd St., at the corner with Vine St. The various car lots stretched back to 4th St. The dealership still exists, although not at this location.
