Political campaign photo of Charles J. Eichel, Jr., Democratic candidate for Congress. He was an attorney active in local politics, at one time the party chairman for Vanderburgh County. This ad is believed to refer to his unsuccessful bid for Congress in the 1944 election. Eichel was the son of the owner of the White Swan Laundry, one of Evansville's first steam laundries. He died May 1, 1951 at the age of 44. He was the nephew of the originator of this photographic collection, Florita Eichel.
