Description
Identified as Alex Brunschwig leaving for Europe, with the woman not identified. Alexander Brunschwig is listed in the June 18, 1920 Evansville Courier as a member of the graduating class from Central High School. A December 24, 1924 Evansville Press article notes that he received honors from his medical school in Chicago even before he graduated, and had studied at higher institutions in America and France. His mother was Mrs. William Eichel. He was the step-nephew of the originator of this photographic collection, Florita Eichel, the stepson of her brother, William. NOTE: Central High School was the first high school in Evansville, established in 1868. It was originally known as Evansville High School and did not take the name Central until 1918, when another high school was built. The school still exists, although not the building in which this man would have attended.
