No city directories of this time contain any mention of an F.L. Forthoffer, nor of a bakery or confectionary with that name. The sister of the originator of this collection (Clifford Shopbell) was married to a Frank L. Forthoffer. Whether this is the bakery owner, or if she is the woman standing in front, is unknown.
