The donor's father was in the oil business beginning in the 1920s in Oklahoma and Texas. He was in the transportation end of the business. According to an interview with the donor, big, heavy boilers provided the steam for the drilling rig. These were so heavy that they required a team of mules to move them. It is believed that these photographs reflect this activity.
