Vietnam radio drama based on letters written by Rick Winters. Rickey “Rick” L. Winters was born on September 6, 1949 in Marion, KY and graduated from Indiana State University-Evansville, (now University of Southern Indiana) with a bachelor's degree in political science. He served in the Vietnam War as a forward air controller with TACP 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. Winters was actively involved with numerous organization such as VFW #1114, American Legion Post #8, Leadership Evansville, and the Vanderburgh Veterans Council. He and his wife Jean (nee Yeckering) were married for 42 years and had one son, Brett. Winters passed away on September 10, 2015.
