Description
Train at the E.S. and N. station in Newburgh, IN, with a conductor standing by and a man in the driver's seat. Another man waits on a bench. The train is no. 101, headed to a baseball game at the Pottery Grounds that day. The Evansville, Suburban, and Newburgh Railway Co. built a station in 1912 on Water St. (this is believed to be the same location, but it's definitely not the brick 1912 building--an earlier location was near Water and Jefferson Sts.) This was both a passenger and freight line. The 1912 station still stands 12 E. Water St., now housing a business.
