In 1964 then Senator Hubert Humphrey was in Evansville as the vice-presidential nominee on the ticket with Lyndon B. Johnson for president. One of his unscheduled stops was at St. Benedict School; at 530 S. Harlan Ave. Given that the street sign just visible on the right side says Harlan, this is probably that occasion.
