Description

""The Lichtenberger/Ford House [907 Main St.] was built in 1856/57 in the Georgian style (1720-1840) with the current entry porch and porte-cochere added later. The house was designed by John Beal for his daughter, Caroline Beal Lichtenberger, from pattern books in his library. The house demonstrates the typical elements of the Georgian style, being a two story box, two rooms deep, using strict symmetrical arrangements. The original entry consisted of a paneled door centered with rectangular side lights enclosed by an entry porch supported by decorative pilasters. The facade contains symmetrically arranged windows which are not paired. Chimneys are located at both ends of the house. The porch and porte-cochere, added in 1895, are in the Colonial Revival style. This house has a full-height entry porch, which does not run the full width of the facade. The wide band of trim beneath the cornice of both the main roof and the porch roof is called an entablature." (https://hnh.oncell.com/en/39-lichtenbergerford-house-88689.html).
