Description
Carrying out reels of film from the Studio Art Theatre at 2113 W. Franklin St., an adult movie theater and bookstore. (Who is doing this is unclear; they are not wearing uniforms.) Built in 1908, this building housed mainstream movie theaters with various names (Palace/Franklin/West End Palace) until sometime during the 1970s when it became an adult entertainment venue. This photograph is in connection with a raid by then Vanderburgh County prosecutor William Brune in an effort to enforce an obscenity law enacted July 29, 1975. The building was razed in the 1990s.
