Freret family of New Orleans. Emma and Vincent, with their three children. There were Frerets in New Orleans politics and architecture, possibly relatives. The 1940 Census has an entry for Vincent R. Freret, born in 1877, born/living in New Orleans with an Emma Freret and 3 others, probably the man/couple in this picture. The connection with New Harmony is unclear, although there are other photographs through this collection of Emma Freret in the company of known New Harmony residents. She was not a New Harmony native as her own 1940 Census entry gives Louisiana as her place of birth, also.
